TAKING ACTION TOGETHER FOR HUMAN RIGHTS

Dear Mussie, The mass uprisings in Egypt and Tunisia have inspired millions of people across the Middle East and North Africa to demand genuine improvements in their human rights. We have seen how thousands have bravely marched in the streets in the hope of bringing an end to years of poverty, corruption and unaccountable state power. They have defied authorities who in their desperation to cling to power have used deadly force against peaceful protesters.

We urgently need your help to continue to support their struggle

In response to the crisis we have: • sent crisis teams to several countries in the region to document and help prevent abuses • mobilised our global movement organising over 50 demonstrations around the world • supported individuals at risk and helped track missing persons • campaigned for an immediate arms embargo and assets freeze on Libya to help end further bloodshed • called for governments to rein in their security forces In recent days we have seen violent crackdowns on protestors in Libya and Bahrain, but it won’t end there. We expect the movement for change to spread throughout the region with new protests being planned in the occupied West Bank, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. There are also ongoing protests in Yemen, Jordan, and other parts of the region.

Our crisis funds are running out and we need your help to continue this work. Your support will enable us to amplify the voices of those crying out for an end to repression. Please make a donation now to support our urgent crisis work This is a once in a generation opportunity to secure a human rights revolution across the Middle East and North Africa. To carry on this important work we need your help urgently.

Thank you. Kristyan Benedict signature Kristyan Benedict Crisis Response Campaign Manager
